Domaine de La Brossette is a certified organic estate located in Touraine, an impressive feat in the marginal climate of the Loire. This boutique estate, owned by the Delaunay family, consists of just three hectares of organic vineyards, planted with Gamay and Cabernet Franc, and produces a pale rosé and a red. The organic Sauvignon Blanc is sourced by Thierry Delaunay from a neighbouring winemaker in the Cher Valley.

The rosé is a blend of 70% Gamay and 30% Cabernet Franc with aromas of raspberry and redcurrant. It has refreshing acidity and is a perfect light rosé to have with canapés and salads. The red is 100% Gamay with crunchy red berry fruit and white pepper spice. The tannins are smooth and the fruit medium in weight with a lovely bright freshness on the finish. The Sauvignon Blanc is a delightful wine, softly scented with greengage and citrus blossom.

Domaine de La Brossette is situated on the bank of the Cher Valley, 50 kilometres east of Tours near the famous Château de Chenonceau. The soil is clay and silex (a mixture of flint and sand) and the pruning method is simple Guyot. It is a small, three hectare estate which is Certified Organic.

The 2020 harvest began at the end of August, much earlier than usual, due to a very hot and dry summer. Harvest took place in perfect sunny conditions over 3 weeks. The grapes were of very high quality with excellent maturity and freshness.

Semi-carbonic maceration took place over a period of six to eight days. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place at 22°C. The grapes were gently pressed with a pneumatic press before ageing on fine lees before bottling.

Bright ruby-red in colour. The nose opens with fragrances of fresh red fruits, accompanied by chalky mineral fragrances. The palate is beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, a supple texture and bright, precise fruit.
